Our center has board certified radiation oncologists, certified radiation therapists and a oncology certified nurse. We are the only facility in the region accredited by the American College of Radiation Oncology.
When referred for radiation therapy, the patient and his or her family are counseled on the comprehensive treatment options that are available, expected procedures, time requirements, and potential side effects of the treatment.
The Evansville Cancer Center initiated High Dose Rate Afterloading radiation therapy in the Evansville area and was among the first in the United States to provide HDR for the treatment of lung, head and neck, prostate, breast, and gynecological diseases.
Our center is equipped with Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT), Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), a High Dose Rate Afterloader, a Linear Accelerator with electron capability, Superficial X-ray, RT Simulator and GE ProSpeed Spiral CT Scanner to deliver individualized and custom designed treatment plans for each patient. Our staff utilizes three dimensional treatment planning to optimize effective radiation therapy delivered with maximum accuracy and less side effects.

All of our equipment is checked and maintained by a full-time biomedical engineer at the Evansville Cancer Center. All calculations, calibrations, and dosimetry are under supervision of medical physicists and their staff.
We adhere to the controls and regulations of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Indiana State Board of Health, and all other applicable federal and state regulations and must meet their approval prior to instituting changes in our equipment procedures.

"I was scared and worried. Everyone was so kind and put me and my family at ease."
