| Physics Department
Evansville Cancer Center's Physics Department is an integral part of the health care team. Before a patient can begin their treatment, our Physics Department develops an individualized treatment plan for that patient. They also maintain the calibrations and quality assurance of all treatment machines to ensure accurate delivery of the radiation dose.
Our staff is comprised of two medical physicists, James J. Duce, MS, DABR and Kambiz Shahnazi, PhD, DABR. James received his Masters Degree in Therapeutic Radiological Medical Physics at the University of Kentucky. Dr. Shahnazi received his PhD from the University of Connecticut in Electrical/Biomedical Engineering and did post-doctoral in diagnostic and therapeutic physics at Yale University. Both are board certified by the American Board of Radiology in Therapeutic Radiologic Physics.
Our dosimetrist, John O’Donoghue, has worked with Evansville Cancer Center and our physicians since 1977. John graduated from Mallinckrodt School of Radiologic Technology at Washington University in St. Louis, Mo and is a certified medicial dosimetrist.
