A California-based company has purchased Evansville Cancer Center and its regional offices in Jasper, Ind., and Henderson, KY.
The Evansville Cancer Center and Vantage Oncology, Inc. of El Segunda, Calif., made the announcement Tuesday. In addition, Vantage will provide billing and support services for cancer centers in Princeton, Ind., Harrisburg, Ill., and Middletown Ohio. Terms of the sale were not disclosed.
Dr. Al Korba, medical director and radiation oncologist for Evansville Cancer Center, which is located at 700 N. Burkhardt Road, said he believes the community will benefit from the new arrangement.
“I am looking forward to working with Vantage Oncology to continue to provide our community a standard of care for cancer patients that is unequalled by other facilities,” he said.
Therapy Associates, founded by Korba and Dr. Aly J. Razek, will continue working with the new owners to provide radiation therapy physician services at the center and will continue to provide medical oncology services.
Vantage will invest in new radiation treatment equipment and facility upgrades for the centers.
