COLA Accreditation Earned

The Evansville Cancer Center Laboratory has maintained criteria for Laboratory Accreditation by COLA!

December 12, 2001 -- Both, Frederick J. Sigda, M.D., Laboratory Director, and Belinda Self, Manager, from the Evansville Cancer Laboratory, are pleased to announce that the Evansville Cancer Center Laboratory has maintained criteria for Laboratory Accreditation by COLA (Commission of Office Laboratory Accreditation), a prominent national healthcare accreditation organization.

The Evansville Cancer Center Laboratory has been COLA accredited since 1995.  This prestigious accreditation is awarded for two years.  The accreditation is given only to laboratories that apply rigid standards of quality for their daily operations, demonstrate continued accuracy in the performance of proficiency testing, and pass a rigorous on site laboratory survey.  The Evansville Cancer Center Laboratory has earned COLA accreditation as a result of a long term commitment to provide the best service possible to their patients.

COLA is a nonprofit, physician directed organization promoting quality and excellence in medicine and patient care through programs of voluntary education, achievement, and accreditation.  COLA is approved by the federal government and sponsored by the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Medical Association, the American College of Physician-American society of Internal-Medicine, the college of American Pathologist and the American Osteopathic Association.
