Prostate Cancer Awareness Campaign

Evansville Cancer Center kicked off its 2003 prostate cancer awareness campaign with former Senator Bob Dole on Saturday, August 23, 2003 at the Centre, downtown Evansville. (Click here to view pictures of the event.)
The day's events started with a VIP/Sponsors Luncheon. Dr. Brian Geisler, a social psychologist, research scientist and recipient of the American Cancer Society grant, presented at the luncheon on "The Quality of Life Following Treatment for Clinically Localized Prostate Cancer". Everyone who attended the luncheon had individual photos taken with Senator Dole.
At 2:00 pm in the auditorium of The Centre, The Senator addressed the public sharing first hand accounts and antidotes of the challenges we have and will face as a nation. As a prostate cancer survivor, he shared the story of his personal battle with prostate cancer emphasizing the importance of early detection for this disease.
