Bob Dole Speaks Out

Evansville Cancer Center kicked off its 2003 prostate cancer awareness campaign with former Senator Bob Dole on Saturday, August 23, 2003 at the Centre, downtown Evansville.

The Senator addressed the public sharing first hand accounts and antidotes of the challenges we have and will face as a nation. As a prostate cancer survivor, he shared the story of his personal battle with prostate cancer emphasizing the importance of early detection for this disease. Dr. Brain Giesler, a social psychologist & research scientist from IUPUI, presented on The Quality of Life Following Treatment
for Clinically Localized Prostate Cancer.

Evansville Cancer Center staff served as volunteers for the "Bob Dole Speaks Out" Prostate Cancer Program.

A wonderful luncheon prepared by the
staff of the Centre was topped off with
a beautiful dessert display.

A signed baseball & photograph of Hall of Fame pitcher Bob Gibson were some of the items auctioned for Cancer Care Options.
